This is the last post we will be making to blogger. We are officially moving over to our new site hotrodsoftware.com this week and it will be the main source for news on everything we are doing. As well as a blog the new site has info on all our products and support for them.

We should also mention that we are frequently updating our twitter status with the latest info and small things that don't need a full blog post so make sure you follow us on twitter too!

As for this blog, it will remain up here until we move all the posts over to the new blog. Even then it will probably just lie dormant here so it will still be accessible but not up-to-date.

Problems with with F1 Mobile 1.3.1

F1 Mobile 1.3.1 went live yesterday and we have noticed some problems with the build. In the calendar view race time, day/date etc isn’t showing. We are aware of these issues and are already readying the next build which was ahead of schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Business app announcement

I'm happy to announce that we have been working on a business/finance app for the last few weeks and it is starting to come along. We hope to debut it in the app store before the end of the month. I can't really say much at the minute but I'm sure a lot of people will find it very useful :D.

In other news we expect Apple to accept the update to F1 Mobile tomorrow (although it could be another few days) which is a pretty big update.

We are also readying updates to Tapit and F1 Mobile Lite which should be out by the end of the week.

As you can see we have a lot going on but we are always open to suggestions from our users so please keep them coming in!

New website

We have finally got a website up and running. Click here to view it (hotrodsoftware.com) We are still working on it and it has some issues (such as the site won't load if you prefix the address with 'www.' We hope to have it fully running by the end of next week. In the meantime we will still be posting here but by the end of the month we will have stopped posting on this blog.

F1 Mobile Update on the way!

Version 1.3 of F1 Mobile is complete and should be available in the app store at the beginning of next week. We have some new features in this version and some improvements also including:

-List of 2009 drivers and their car numbers
-List of 2009 teams
-Ability to change apps color scheme (I personally use the silver scheme)
-Redesigned race info section
-Race start times (in GMT more time zones coming at a later date)
-New Icon
-Minor UI tweaks
-Minor performance improvements

We think these new features (and improvements) will make F1 Mobile even more useful for you. We will post screenshots of the app later as well as possibly a video.

Tapit is live!

As we mentioned on Twitter we submitted a brand new app to Apple yesterday. It is called Tapit! and is a simple game. The object of the game is to score as many points as possible. There are two balls on the screen, one blue and one orange. Tapping a blue balls gains you a point. Tapping an orange ball loses you two points. It is a great game for wasting time when you are waiting in a queue or have a few minutes to spare. Screenshots follow this post and they'll probably explain it better.

F1 Mobile 1.2 Released

F1 Mobile 1.2 is now live. You can get your copy now by visiting the app store or if you already own a copy of F1 Mobile download the update. This is a pretty big update which includes maps, a feature a lot of you have been requesting. Enjoy!

What's coming this week?

If all goes well and Apple approves our apps quick enough we should have three releases this week.

First of all the update to Petals Around The Rose. This fixes bugs, includes new instructions to make the object of the game clearer and animates the dice.

Secondly version 1.2 of F1 Mobile will be out. It will include maps, UI improvements and more. See the post below for more info on that release.

Finally we are releasing a new version of F1 Mobile; F1 Mobile Lite. It will be free and is intended to give new customers a chance to try out the app for free before upgrading to the full version. It includes:

- News from planet F1
- Drivers and constructors standings
- Calendar with race dates (but no extra information)

We will post as soon as these have been posted on the app store, which will hopefully be soon :D

F1 Mobile 1.2

We have just finished development of version 1.2 of F1 Mobile and submitted it to Apple. If all goes well it will be in the store in under a week. This update includes basic maps, Google maps, two new feed providers, user interface improvements and user experience enhancements.

Update progress

We have submitted an update to Apple for Petals Around The Rose that contains several fixes. We are also currently working on another update that adds some animation to the dice and makes the rules of the game easier to understand.

Petals Around The Rose Bugs

Since we made Petals Around The Rose free last night we have started to notice complaints of bugs that neither us nor Apple noticed in testing. We would like to apologize for this and inform you that a fix is almost finished and will be submitted to Apple today. This means that you should see it in the store in between 1 and 7 days.

We will update you on the situation later today.

Update progress

Good news! Development of the next update to F1 Mobile has been progressing much quicker than we anticipated. We should have a major update ready by the end of next week! This update will include:

- maps
- new UI
- driver info
- team info
- race start times
- more feed providers
- user experience enhancements

So far the release is shaping up to be pretty major and we are looking forward to your reactions!

News on requests/suggestions.

Hey everyone. First of all thanks to everyone who has suggested new features and changes to the app. We are working on improving it for you all and would like to let you know what to expect.

Many of you have requested maps. We know that this is an important feature and it is a top priority. It should be in the next update.

Another feature requested was the time a race starts. We will also hopefully be including that in the next update.

Some users (although a small minority) have had complaints about the design/look of the app. While many users have said how efficient it is we are listening and we are working on a new design that will work better with the new features we are planning.

Other features coming include:

- Driver info
- Team info
- More news provider choices
- The ability to share stories with your friends

We also have many more features planned for the future.

Many of you have been requesting that we add maps to F1 Mobile and we are pleased to let you know that we have been working on it for a while and it will be in the next update. We are not setting a date on the release but it will be finished testing sometime within the next two weeks. We also have a few other new features coming in the next update which we think you will also like. In the meantime we hope you are finding the app useful! And make sure you tell other F1 fans about it!

F1 Mobile 1.1 released

Although we just released F1 Mobile yesterday we have already completed version 1.1 and submitted it to Apple. It should hopefully be available within the next week. 1.1 includes some big enhancements to the app including:

- Performance fixes
- Brand new Drivers Table
- Brand new Constructors Table
- Typos corrected

In the mean time we hope you are enjoying the app but we assure you this update is a vast improvement.

In another note we have also nearly completed testing version 1.2 which includes some UI changes. It should arrive within the next few weeks. More on that later.

Good news everyone! Both our apps 'F1 Mobile' and 'Petals Around The Rose' have now been approved by Apple. We just need to wait on them finishing up some legal stuff and they are both guaranteed to be in the App Store.

Meanwhile, even though the apps aren't fully released yet, we are working on updates with improved functionality fir both of them and these are nearly ready. Who knows, they may even be ready for our App Store debut.

Well we just wanted to update you on the process.

F1 Mobile - Coming Soon!

F1 Mobile is our app to help you keep up to date with the world of Formula 1 when you are on the go. F1 Mobile lets you keep up with latest news (on or off season), view drivers and constructors championship tables, view race results, and we also have the full season calendar with useful information on each race.

Today I just want to update you on when to expect the app in the iTunes App Store. We submitted it to Apple and they have approved it for release! We are now just finalizing our contracts with them which could be complete tomorrow or in two weeks; we don't know exactly. You should expect the app fairly soon however.

In the meantime we are already working hard on version 1.1. Version 1.1 will include:

improved drivers and constructors table
performance gains
enhanced UI
bug fixes

Some of these things will be big improvements over what we are shipping in version 1.0 but they will of course be a free update.

We are also working hard on ideas for version 2.0 which will probably be released at the beginning of the 2009 Formula 1 Season. It will also be a free update. So there is a lot to look forward to, both now and in the future.

In the meantime I suggest you subscribe to our RSS feed so you will be alerted immediately upon the release of F1 Mobile. It will be available in all the App stores worldwide. It will only ship in English but we are hard at work translating it to German and Italian.
